Why Zouk Club is special ?

A sprawling nightclub, bar, live music venue and restaurant, Zouk KL is an icon in Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife scene that has been around since 2004. Located along Jalan Ampang, Zouk started out life with four different zones – Zouk, Velvet Underground, Loft and Terrace. Today it has grown to encompass six rooms, Aristo & Rooftop Garden, Barsonic, Main Room, Phuture, Terrace Bar and Velvet Underground.

Best known for hosting themed party nights like retro Mambo Jambo (70s and 80s hits remixed with house music) on Wednesday nights, Zouk KL has become a staple in the city’s clubbing scene and has developed a cult following among locals. Sister nightclub to Zouk Singapore, its moniker means ‘party’ in French Creole and it lives up to its name, with each of the club’s spaces featuring different decor and offering diverse clubbing experiences.

What to explore at Zouk Club?

* Zouk MainRoom- the flagship venue and largest room, occupies a cavernous split level space – with three lounge areas surrounding the central dance floor on the ground level, and a members bar and VIP Room on the upper level. Home to the resident and international DJs and Zouk’s largest dance floor.

* Velvet Underground- the revamped  elite room oozes sophistication and sensuality, with exceptional decor and personalised service that attracts a more mature audience. The legendary “Original Mambo Jambo” nights feature retro tunes from the 80′s and 90′s.

* “Phuture” – Just like its counterpart in Singapore, this room is dedicated to R&B,  which is one of KL’s most popular types of music and appeals to a broad cross section of everyday clubbers.

* Aristo & Roof Garden- A new addition to the rooms at Zouk- Aristo is a luxurious and intimate space that embraces the funky sounds of nu-disco & house music. The gleaming central bar specialises in creative cocktails, champagnes, premium wines, and imported beers. Comfortable daybed sofas entice guests to kick back and relax with the the funky sounds of nu-disco & house music. Outside, there is a balcony section overlooking the entrance to Zouk, and adjacent on the rooftop, a new garden setting  with furnishings made from recycled materials and with fabulous views of the  nearby Petronas Twin Towers that soar spectacularly into the night sky.

* “Barsonic”- Another new room- small and intimate- for showcasing  the more edgy events- and featuring regular nights of indie, electro and mash-ups.

* “Terrace Bar”- at the street level entrance- an indoor/outdoor bar and bistro for casual drinks and meals at any hour of the night. Great for pre-clubbing refreshments, or for winding down post-clubbing. Open daily from 6 pm to 3 am.

Love how you can roam around different rooms! Music is good(just switch rooms when it's not). Best place to party ? velvet is always too crowded though.

This place is good if you want to chill at the Aristo and Roof Top terrage lounge, other places are just a bit too loud and crowded for my liking. I have been to Zouk a lot of times, sometimes I love it, sometimes I dislike it, but taste is very much an individual choice. But I definitely love the Aristo lounge the most, since it's more chilled and relax than the underground equilavent, such as Velvet.

I am fully aware that the safety and the security of every guests of importance for any clubs.. but please try to have warm and nice gentlemen at your front door.. it would make your patrons feel unease.. luckily the music, the ambience and the coctail made me forget my unpleasant experience with the bouncer earlier...
