The burial place (shrine) of the great national hero! I thought it was one of the numerous temples and wondered if to pay a visit.. But it was worth it, as I learnt a few things about the history of China, Yue Fei (12th century) - A brave general who remained loyal and faithful to his king and fought bravely against the army of the Jin dynasty.. Interesting! There are very few descriptions in English, unfortunately. Still- historic place to visit... ( the 4 letters in the picture mean: ,Be Loyal to the Motherland'....beautiful)
This temple is unlike any temples I've visited. There is no incense and no crowd. It is quiet, tranquil and dignified. I found that to be an appropriate tribute to one of China's great generals. I had the privilege of hearing a guide talk about the intricacies of the site and that enriched my visit greatly. Really made history come alive for me. I especially enjoyed the plaques around the place... I love admiring the varied styles of calligraphies... they are art pieces in themselves.
