Very cute with lots of restaurants and stores. Reminds me of a bit like the east and west villages of NYC. Make sure to check out the side alleys for more.

Yong kang road is foodie heaven mixed with interesting little shops along the way. It is not a long road at all. It is located right off the subway stop called Dongmen station. A few steps away from the station is the original ding tai fung restaurant with a seemingly permanent line of people waiting to get in! Starting around the corner on the right hand side of Yong Kang Rd at the first corner is what i think the best tasting onion pancakes! This mobile pancake station serves piping hot pancakes, some made with eggs. I tried the original version and will make sure i try it again on my next visit! Right across the street is a bright yellow shaved ice establlishment not to be missed. My favorite is the mango shaved ice. You may have noticed their massive ads along the escalator from the MRT station. About 2 short blocks away is a Taiwanese restaurant serving really good small dishes fypical of Taiwan. Very good too! There are pictures on the wall and you can just point to them!
