Why Yokohama Landmark Tower Sky Garden is special ?
The Yokohama Landmark Tower Sky Garden is Japan’s highest observation deck on the 69th floor of the Landmark Tower, the tallest building in Yokohama standing at 296 meters. Visitors take Japan’s fastest elevator at 750m/min to reach the observatory in just under 40 seconds. The observatory provides a 360-degree, panoramic view of Yokohama city, the Yokohama Bay Bridge, and the Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji on clear days. It may not be Japan's tallest building any more, thanks to the Tokyo Skytree, but it's still impressive standing at 296m high (70 storeys) and has one of the world's fastest lifts (45km/h).
What to explore at Yokohama Landmark Tower Sky Garden?
For those who visit Yokohama, which is just a short train ride from Tokyo, a must see place is Landmark Tower which offers the best views of the area. From the Tower`s Sky Garden up on the 69th floor the 360` view is superb. In Kanagawa prefecture it truly is number one, and it is located right in the middle of the Minato Mirai 21 area.
To the south-west of Yokohama Landmark Tower lies Mount Fuji
What`s the view from the Sky Garden like?
It is absolutely fantastic. Actually, it`s more than absolutely fantastic on a fine day. As you walk out of the elevators (which are the fastest in Japan at 45 km/h), a stunning view awaits you through huge windows. Right in front of you is the beautiful Bay Bridge and the historic port of Yokohama. It really is lovely walking out the elevator and walking up to those windows to see all the ships travel along Tokyo Bay, from tiny pleasure craft right up to supertankers, plus the massive cruise ships that you might see docked at Osanbashi pier.
You can see Rinko park, the Intercontinental Yokohama Grand and Pan Pacific hotels. You can also see the Cosmo World amusement park. And for those who don`t have a fear of heights, if you look straight down you can also see the Nippon Maru a former sailing ship that is permanently moored under Landmark Tower.
And Yokohama is filled with so many other great landmarks that can be seen from Landmark Tower, for example there are the historic Red Brick Warehouses, Yamashita park and the ocean liner Hikawa Maru which is moored in front of it. You can also see Yokohama stadium, home to the Baystar`s baseball team.
On a fine day, it`s possible to see many different parts of Tokyo such as the skyscrapers in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree and so much more. Looking out to the east you can see parts of Chiba, Ooshima island (which is more to the southeast). And to the southwest you can see the iconic Mount Fuji.
Probably the best thing to see though are the sunsets, as they can be very spectacular. And the best way to enjoy them is by sitting on the sofas that are there while sipping a drink from the cafe just behind. The sofas can be reserved, but if they aren`t taken you can enjoy them at your leisure. From the observation deck there are so many things to see, the list is almost endless.
The view from the Sky Garden in Yokohama`s Landmark Tower is fantastic and if you are in the Yokohama area, it really is the place to go to get a view of the whole area.

Tips for you
I think this may be the highest building in Yokohama and is probably the highest viewpoint for tourists. There is nothing in particular more to say except the view is fantastic and you can look down on some of the best tourist attractions in the area. I liked Yokohama a lot and the Tower added significantly to my experience of the city.
