I popped in here as I was visiting the Grand Prix museum at the time. The museum gives a basic history of where wine originated from and the wine making process. It then gives the history of wine in China (which I found very interesting) and Portugal and it also has a large number of bottles of wine (mainly Portuguese wine) on display. The museum is free but if you want to taste wine (or port) at the end you have to pay for this, there are two options tastes one or taste 3, tasting three costs MOP15.

Museu do Vinho, as known as wine museum, located in Centro de Actividades Turísticas for promoting culture and tourism. As Macau has a complicated history background, governed by Portuguese and Chinese government, the wine cultural is comprehensive. Inside museum, it displays more than 1000 different wine brands of Portuguese, of which 600 are commercial wines. It also displays some Chinese wine brans. Along the visiting, a tour guild explains the wine history in detail. A lots of delicate information boards with photos, maps and texts interpret different stage of wine history, from ancient to modern. Also, models and equipment are shown to reappear the wine production in the past. Besides, variety of customs of Sommelier is display clearly. It shows wine-tasting is actually under strict regulation. At the end, there is a wine sample tasting section, about $10 mops for 1 cup. At weekend evening, there will be a saxophone live performance for traditional Portuguese Fado music. I would recommended people who love wine cultural can acknowledge interesting wine history. The entire environment is nice and the decoration is using a lots of stone and wood, enhance the overall atmosphere. I like the final music preference the most, but it need to pick a right time to visit.
