Why Wat Sop Sickharam Luang Prabang is special ?

Wat Sop Sickharam is on the main avenue in the center,Wat Sop Sickharam is on the main avenue in the center, but it is not the mass of the target of tourists and so you have to enjoy the tranquility their entire arts works.

This Wat is on a street corner marked by a blue and green glazed stupa just inside its boundary wall. It is next to Wat Sene and the first of three very close together Wats. Lots of lanterns hang from the entrance to its main hall. There were plenty of monks around when you come  there but they were happily going about their daily lives.

What to explore at Wat Sop Sickharam Luang Prabang?

This also is a quiet garden to visit and enjoy. There are many novice monks here as there is a school and also is a working temple.

This is a decent place to watch the alms ceremony on the other side of the road as not many of the hordes of tourists in front of Wat Sen bother to walk down this far.

Myself & my girlfriend hired two pushbikes for the day & cycled around the wats & this one was pretty nice. Firstly, we weren't charged, and secondly, it was not swarming with tourists despite being pretty close to the main tourist area. There were plenty of monks around when we were there but they were happily going about their daily lives, and we were happy to spend 10mins here and move on.

Hell prevent the alms giving ceremony becoming me of a tourist circus than it already is, by following the simple rules posted at the temple
