Why Wadakura Fountain Park is special ?
Wadakura Fountain Park (part of Kokyogaien National Gardens) was built to commemorate the royal wedding of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan in 1961. The Fountain Park was then reconstructed, in 1995 with the postmodern theme of 'Continuity and New Development'. The reconstruction celebrated the wedding of the Crown Prince and Princess. Four canals connect the new fountain to the old fountain and symbolize the Royal Weddings of two generations.
What to explore at Wadakura Fountain Park?
It is noted that the fountains doesn't run all the time so it depends on how lucky you are to observe the fountain. Their patterns change every few minutes, making this an inviting place to just sit a while. Probably quite nice after dark, too. The moisture from the fountains gives a bit of coolness when you're downwind,
- Double rainbow in the beautiful park
- Calm your mind for a break
- For peaceful time
- Water dancing show
- The spectacular fountains

Tips for you
Worth a visit if you are nearby. The fountains do run a display so hang about if they seem to be doing something. Also has places to sit and cafe but that was closed when I was there.
