Why Vietnam Home Restaurant is special ?
Open since 2009, Vietnam Home 1 at 125A Nguyen Dinh Chieu has offered some of the best home-style Vietnamese cuisine along the Phan Thiet-Mui Ne Strip. Set in an airy, traditional-style Vietnamese thatched building, the restaurant has a wide range of international and Vietnamese dishes and is a favourite among tour groups visiting the area.
If you've ever wanted to try crocodile (as Russian tour groups do), stuffed sea snails or lizard (a Vietnamese speciality), you've come to the right place. If you cannot decide from the à la carte menu, go for one of the set menus with a range of tasty dishes that are not necessarily as 'exotic'. There's an all-you-can-eat buffet complete with crocodile every Thursday, and a range of very affordable wines to complement your meal.
The ground floor has open and covered seating, as does the pleasant terrace on the first floor.
Must try dishes
Fresh fish with some juice and marinade with ginger, galingale, minced garlic, lemon…
Dong fish (Lizards)
Dong can be cooked in variety of ways including fried giong served with grilled banh trang (dried pancake) or goi Dong (Dong with vegetables) or lau giong (hot pot)
Lau Tha (Seafood hot pot)
Lau tha is made of fish, shrimp, pork, vegetables, green mango, banana flowers, rice paper cake, rice noodles and fried eggs

Tips for you
This is a large first floor (advantageous in my eyes) restaurant which was pretty empty when we visited - the resort is suffering from the reduction in the number of Russian visitors due to the travails of the Rouble. We enjoyed a meal of Spring Rolls, Barracuda and chicken cooked in chilli and salt, and then desserts recommended by a very friendly (and English speaking) staff member. It was a good meal, in pleasant surroundings and I am happy to suggest that if you visit you will not be disappointed. The menu is extensive and it is relatively good value, especially as they offered a %10 discount - presumably due to the lower tourist numbers.
Best food and service during our stay, ate lizard, eel, noodle soup and tried dal at wine (we liked it). There is plenty for those who are not ready for the local cuisine although we loved it, the waitress was very helpful and helped us choose our meals. If you have a tourist map in your resort it is one of the named eateries however it is called 'vietnam house' instead. Look above the shops to find it!
When I was living in Saigon, I used to hang out with friend to Mui Ne, Phan Thiet at weekend. I have a low budget so I never tried the place like Vietnam Home Restaurant. But that time, I decide to eat something special, something I think it's worth for the last time. So I and some of my friends chose to eat in Vietnam Home Restaurant (of course I was introduced by google). The service got a problem just because they have too many guests. I mean I had to wait up to 30 - 45 minutes for the first dish. That's a little bit exhausted after a breaking day. However, the quality and the quantity of food save everything. I'm now living in Hanoi, the chance to get Mui Ne is not easy like it was before. However, If I go with my boyfriends, my family, I definitely to go to Vietnam Home Hotel to enjoy cuisine. The most memorable food was salad mixing between crab meat and Dragon Fruit. So wonderful with the fresh and sweet from fruit and soft and tasty of crab meat. Just try.
