Why Tokyo City View is special ?

Located at the top of the Mori Tower, the Tokyo City View observation deck has high ceiling and glass walls that extend all the way around the building, giving visitors views of the entire city. Additionally, Sky Deck is an open-air rooftop deck that can be accessed when the weather permits. The glass paneled Tokyo City View at 238m above ground level (270 m above sea level) will take your breath away.

What to explore at Tokyo City View?

You will have a 360 degrees panoramic view of the city of Tokyo and be exhilarated to recognize many of the landmarks of the city such as Tokyo Tower, Sky tree, Haneda Airport, Akhiabara, Ginza and so on. The city changes its colors at different times of the day, but the best time to enjoy this transformation is the time when day gives place to evening through dusk. As the natural light fades the neon lights of the cityscape come alive drowning the city in a magical hue. The observation deck is so big, you will never feel it crowded at any time.

Experience the amazing sunset - the views over Tokyo Tower and Mt. Fuji (when it is clear) are unforgettable, with 360 degrees view of Tokyo City and the bay area at the same time.

This was my second visit to Tokyo and we had even gone to Roppongi Hills last time and then decided not to go up for the view. This time we thought we may as well, the ticket cost 1500 yen, which was supposed to include entry to a museum/art gallery, however this was closed and there was no discount offered. We ascended at about sunset, and it was poor timing. The place was overrun with rowdy Japanese high school students, at least a hundred, and a lot of them running about and shouting. There were a couple of pathetic shops and an overpriced bar/cafe. That was about it. Yes, it was a decent view of Tokyo tower, but that was about it. Luckily the rabble left after about 20 minutes, so we did another round of the observation deck in peace, quiet and a bit more access to the windows. Still dissapointing. On our first visit we went up the FREE Tokyo Metropolitan Government offices, which I felt was just the same view, perhaps better. Tokyo Tower itself is cheaper to get to the highest viewing deck. I would rather have spent this money on a nice dinner or some gifts/souvenirs.
