Why Tianjing Chong Zhua Pancake is special ?
Also known as scallion/spring onion pancakes, where the texture is similar to a roti, which has bits of spring onion. Taiwanese pancakes are fairly fluffy and soft, as they are fluffed up during the cooking process. These are good cheap belly fillers
A popular stall is the Tianjing Chong Zhua which is located around the corner from Ding Tai Fung in Xinyi, where you will always see a queue of people eating this wonderful street snack.

Tips for you
It is at the corner of YongKang street, and you won't miss it as there was always queue. I have visited them 3 times in days and you could see how good it is. I have tried 3 styles of its pancake: "plain style", "with egg", "all-in style". Both plain & with egg are great as you can really taste the pancake. While the "all-in style" is too much and you cannot really enjoy the taste of it. Will definitely re-visit them next time.
No surprise on the long queue, even right after lunch, the pancake looks simple, but it's delicious. There are choices on the menu, with little addition to the original pancake. You can chose from the plain original one, or adding some with eggs ("jidan" in Chinese) or one with veggies. I tried one with basil leaves, it's very good and worth to wait awhile.
Stay in a long line to wait for the old lady fry those pancakes, but it worth. Buy that as a snack during late afternoon, an hour prior to dinner, we walk and eat in the Yung Kang park, quite an easy life.
