First impressions: great location, 3-5 minutes walking distance from XiaoBei exit C. It's situated in a nice hotel and when you walk-in, you step into a little gem. The decor and ambience is breathtaking. All staff is dressed in lovely uniforms and are highly professional. The food is delicious, fresh, and will leave foodies wanting more. If you're looking for an authentic Indian feast, well my friends, you've come to the right place. I ordered samosas 40rmb, dal tadak 88rmb and two naans (garlic 24rmb/regular 15rmb). The main dishes are priced accordingly considering the quality but portions are small. Our groups complaints: Chawal I didn't order chawal (Indian rice) but a few friends did. At 50rmb per bowl of chawal- it sets the bar high! Now considering that each dish is 55+, it would be best if the main course prices were higher but included a small portion of chawal. It seems like the reasonable thing to do. With that being said, many at the table agreed that including the price of food, portions plus price they would rate the restaurant a 3.75. Second downfall: Drinks Water was 50rmb per large bottle. When you do the breakdown, the price is fair considering we were a party of eight. However, most restaurants offer free water so why can't this one? Mango Lassi: Yet another 50rmb. For the size I feel 25rmb would be more reasonable. It was average and it didn't meet the expectations the food did. 15% service fee: If I'm paying for a service fee, I would like more attention. They did a great job, but there's always room for improve if I'm paying for it. Especially when a ¥1500ish bill becomes ¥1741. Final thoughts: The food is delicious, fresh and authentic Indian cuisine. It's a favorite of mine and I'll continue to come. I think they could improve the menu because at nearly $10 for a bowl of chawal, it seems unreasonable! Definitely worth a try but keep in mind you'll spend close to 250rmb per visit, that is- if you're dining solo and don't consume alcoholic beverages
