Why The Shell Resort & Spa is special ?

The Shells is a luxury resort, unlike any other on Phu Quoc. From the elegant white Terazzo walls and floors to the beautifully designed rooms, private beach and poolside parties, your stay at The Shells Resort & Spa will be a vacation to remember.

When concept for The Shells Resort & Spa was first created, the Tran Thai group wanted to share with its guests the vision of a new luxury experience on the beautiful island of Phu Quoc. This ambition gave rise to a plan for the shell-shaped resort that would become The Shells, a unique destination for visitors to Phu Quoc.

While staying at the resort, guests can take part in exciting beach games, dine at the poolside open-air restaurant and enjoy cocktails and more in the café bar.

The Shells Resort & Spa Phu Quoc includes natural forest as well as the spa and resort building. Additionally, bungalows with private swimming pools, and water bungalows, built on stilts sitting over the sea, will be added to further enhance The Shells Resort & Spa Phu Quoc.

The easiest way to reach the island is by air, and there are direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air.

The Shells Resort & Spa is located on a pristine private beach just 50 minutes north of Phu Quoc International Airport. The main town on the island – Duong Dung – is a short 15 minute drive away. Tips for you

  • The price on the menus is excluding 5% service charge plus another 10% tax.
  • You should bring your own suncreen or tan lotion. they do not have them on site.
    What to bring
  • Top floor gets best views but then the pool, beach, bar and restaurant are 2 floors down.
    What to know
  • You are quite isolated in the hotel. A taxi into town costs about 120,000 VND each way. The hotel will organise one for you but a shuttle bus would be a good option.
  • The hotel will send to the room some little treats for guests every afternoon (chocolate, cookies, etc).

Despite mixed reviews, we still decided to choose The Shells, and we would never regret. The rooms are overlooking the pool and the sea, just like those pictures posted by the resorts. The architecture and the rooms are well designed, brand new and really interesting. The service is very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. What's more interesting is there are some philippine staff who can speak English very well so language will never be a problem. The breakfast includes a decent range of dishes, from Vietnamese traditional food to Western bread, salad,... I'm sure you will be very satisfied with breakfast. We also dine once at the resort's restaurant, the food is pretty tasty and well ranged. You will also cheer up to some live music by a Philip groups in the evening while enjoying your dinner. However, there are some cons but they are not really a problem. The wifi of the rooms at the side is really bad, very unstable. However, that of the rooms at the center is excellent, i hope the resort will fix this. Moreover, It takes about 6-7 kms to go downtown from the resort, about 100VND if you take a taxi. Also, the road to the resort is under construction, but it doesn't make much a discomfort. One more thing, remember one room is for 2 adults and 1 children under 12. If you have 2 adults and 2 big children like us (15,17), you will certainly have to book 2 rooms.
