Why The Hill Station is special ?
The Hill Station aims to introduce visitors to Sapa and its surrounding area to the rich culinary and cultural tradition of this unique location in the shadow of Fansipan mountain; passionately called The Roof of Indochine.
Set on two floors, with a narrow open staircase in between, The Hill Station is a cafe-cum-deli-cum-wine bar, opened in late 2011. It specialises in platters of cold cuts and cheeses, with a good range of both. Platters are served up with plenty of delicious crusty bread, or opt for a sandwich, baguette or tasty panini — all with decent amounts of filling, a side salad and a serving of Dijon-style mustard, which really adds a kick. If you’re after something more hearty, the daily specials includes a soup, pasta, meat and fish dish: it’s a limited selection but hard to resist.
Must try dishes:
Pancake with honey
Cheese, ham and pate
Blue cheese burger

Tips for you
Sort of a "western class" place in Sapa, including the prices which are slightly above the going rate. You can order anything you want in here and it is delicious. And of course, the espresso coffee is a favourite after a while in Vietnam. Side note: as it turned out the owner was from our home country (Norway) and was the first westerner who married one of the village women. She was a trekking guide on his first trip to Sapa and made him want to stay. Love can do anything. Lucky for us, we had a warm and brilliant place to eat and drink.
