I went riding with my friend and it was awesome. I am an experienced rider, whilst my friend was a beginner and we both came away with an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Kong, was patient, knowledgeable and really friendly....everything you could ask for in a guide. We started out together and then when my friend felt she had experienced enough for a first ride, he offered to take me on my own so that I could go a bit faster. Best experience by far in Siem Reap. The horses are well cared for, eager and the ride was beautiful. Everything I had hoped for and more....cannot wait to come back!! :D I would definitely recommend asking for Kong as your guide.
We spent a week in Siem Reap doing countless activites and visiting all the temples but this tour was by far the best one that we did! Both my boyfriend and I were extremely inexperienced horse riders, so was a bit daunting at first however after only 10 minutes we felt very comfortable thanks to our guide who gave us many tips and tricks!Kong (or King Kong) was our guide and he was amazing at what he does. His English was fantastic and he gave us so much information about the area, the horses and life in Cambodia. He also opened up to us about his life which gave a beautiful personal touch to the tourWe rode horses Balou and LA and they were both lovely horses! We did the 3 hours sunset tour, which was just my boyfriend and I plus Kong which was very specialWe rode through fields, visited temples and went past local villagesOverall was a fantastic experience that I would recomend to anyone!
First off, I was pleased to find the horses here healthy and very well cared for. The stables have roomy stalls are well constructed, well maintained and clean by Western standards. These horses live better than most people in Cambodia. Seeing the countryside/rice paddies by horseback was a great way to do it. Our horses were a bit unruly, but nothing unusual for rent-by-the-hour trail horses. They let us canter on the trail, even tho my husband is a novice rider. No stable in the U.S. would dare do that. Dangerous? Probably. Fun? Hell yes!
Had a lovely trek this morning. The horses are beautifully cared for and trained& are very responsive. Our guide was full of information about the local way of life and it was a great experience to see a village in a way that you never would from a car or bus. Highly recommended!
