Tips for you
While not the latest nor coming-of-age shopping street in Osaka, Tenjimabshi sure has its cult followings and traditional attraction.! It is a short walk from both "Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome Sta."(exit No.8) or Minamimorimachi Sta. 南森町駅 of Subway Tanimachi & Sakaisuji Line,. Subway at either end, there lies the entire alley of approx. 2.6km. It is a loooong-covered street of vendors selling literally everything you can think of. One can simply spend many hours here strolling & window shopping. As it is so long one will not be tempted to walk backwards for a missed-buy, just continue forward and who knows another better one awaits ahead! Fun and a great experience. Personally I didn’t find anything particularly unique and prices weren't compelling either. There are some good Cafes (Excelsior’s, Veloce) and Bakeries where you can take a break, we did. One cannot help comparing it with the famous Shinsaibashi which offers more exciting shopping options for the young. However it’s still worth a visit given its 100-Yen shops, drug store selling cheap cosmetics, souvenir shops, Pachiko parlour. The local-feel experience is good especially if you are into nostalgia or like to see the locals doing their shopping. Come try and experience it yourself!. A little tip; Osaka famous Temmangu shrine can be accessed readily along the alley, about midway . There is a Udon stop which sells terrific udon and we frequent it everytime we dropped by Osaka!
