Why Tavan Restaurant is special ?
Tavan Restaurant, belonging to luxurious four-star Victoria Sapa Resort and Spa, is on the hill above Sapa Town, offering the great natural views, especially if you choose to have meals at the sun terrace. The price here is higher than average, but it is worth the money value for the superb food quality and services.
The restaurant’s menu is not very extensive with only a few pages of both Vietnamese and western cuisines with some set meals (may be up to seven-course menu). Dishes made from local mushroom are Tavan Restaurant’s specialties. The Parisian chef has been working here for years, creating the best European classics in town such as rack of lamb, Raclette or Risotto. There are a lot of restaurants offering a lower price for backpack tourists; however, Tavan Restaurant will definitely satisfy ones who love outstanding food while being treated like a king.
Must try dishes:
Spring Rolls
Mushroom Risotto
Hot Chocolate Cake
Mango ice cream

Reviews
This restaurant is in the Victoria Sapa Hotel and is excellent. Cuisine is a French/Asian fusion beautifully prepared and imaginatively presented. I had six meals here over two days and did not even think of eating anyplace else. Though they offer duck, chicken, beef (Australian) as well as pasta dishes I enjoyed their high-altitude trout. It is a more textured fish, with coloring like salmon. It is available in starters and mains. To eat here is a dining experience. Don't be in a rush, enjoy every bite and be grateful you can find such a good restaurant in such a remote place.
