I arrived jet lagged from UK via a few hours to do some work in Vientiane. My hotel recommended this place and I got the last table through an urgent phone call . Really popular and for good reason. A menu which is a brilliant narrative on Lao cooking. Helpful staff to guide you through what is very unfamiliar food. Just remember -sticky rice to be eaten with fingers - there is simply no other way. It is a meal culture where the food appears as it is ready, so no proper starters or mains. I has the dipping taster - sticky rice is the mainstay of the poor so highly flavour sauces and dips relieve the monotony. All really full; citrus, lemongrass, garlic spices but none very hot. My main was lemon grass stuffed ( heaven knows how that is done but it was) with chicken, coriander, lemon, garlic - just scrummy. Had Lao coffee which with the blob of condensed milk in the bottom is interesting but not worth repeating. Drank ginger and lemon grass ( get my theme for the evening?) fresh cordial wit a Lao Lao chaser - I can feel a fairly solid night's sleep approaching. Splendid restaurant - a real credit to a cuisine that needs to be better known.
