Tips for you
Taman Safari includes a drive-through safari-style zoo, a smaller walk-through zoo, some aquarium features, amusement park rides for young children, a water park, and a 4D theatre. The safari part was good fun. You can purchase carrots from stalls along the way (before you enter) to feed to the animals. We had a very friendly zebra who tried to join us in the car. The animals are beautiful and seem to be taken care of appropriately. You don't only drive through the habitats of the herbivores, you also encounter some carnivores on the path, so it's important to roll up windows through the bear and lion enclosures. Since we visited during the spring, we enjoyed the extra bonus of seeing a lot of adorable baby animals--a baby elephant, llama, deer, giraffe, hippo... and my 6-year-old got to hold a baby wallaby. That was the highlight of his day (maybe his month!). The zoo puts on several shows throughout the day. We went to the dolphin show, and it was great (though it started 30 minutes late). We did not have time to do the waterpark (in fact, no one seemed to be riding the slides, so I'm not sure if there is something wrong with them), so I can't comment on that aspect. The walk-through part of the zoo was nice, as well. My kids loved the little rides (they are a small additional fee), though a couple of them were not running on the day we were there. It was definitely a positive experience. We plan to return, and I would recommend it for a lovely day out with family.
One of my fave zoo! The animals look so active and healthy. Ambiance is nice. Warm and friendly staff.
