Tips for you
Loads of shops! Make sure to bargain.
Went there on a Saturday late afternoon. The crowd is ok, probaby due to the aftermath of typhoon. The variety for shopping is average, there are quite a number of repetitive shops. We managed to walk finish the whole stretch in about 3hours or so.There are an area for food too but we didn't try it out.A good place to shop especially you prefer air-conditioned or during typhoon days! Toilets are available easily..Else, I would prefer night market though~
Underground those MRT stations esp. under the Taipei Main, wow so many secret hidden shops (similar to out tiangge) so reasonable prices- NT200 for a pair of shoes (convert about 1.43 to our Phil peso), bargain dresses from NT200 !! A Steal !!Inside streets of Taipei those night markets are a MUST!TIPS:Bring along your own trolley- dont worry can carry along the train after shopping- even up on the BusBring your water bottle- you'll get thirstyBring loose NT 100 billsEat first before u go, but sliced fruits on the night markets are very sweet- welcome treat for fruitarians like meWalking old shoes, but easy to remove just in case u need to try on shoes- or boots!Wear skirts or garter shorts- easy to remove to try on some pantsWear thin shirts sleeveless so u can try on some dresses quickly- some might not have fitting rooms for u-remember it's Night market shopping, move aroundGet a short afternoon nap first might be tiring- this way u can last longCurfew at 10p.m. my last Bus ride back
I have been talking about this place for many years. Finally got around to taking some pictures and walked the length again today. It was great , so many years and still Cheap T-Shirts @ NTD100 , Cheap shoes @ NTD200 and many other inexpensive gift items, Electronics, games, toys etc. Super great to come here on a rainy day if you have no place to go. Today extremely hot humid day @ 36C so it was very comfortable in the Fully AC mall. What was Great New eating joints-Clean and Full of people. In Taiwan where young couples do not like to cook at all,You can guess a place that is above average by the number of people inside. It does not always come out right this way, but mostly, you are not wrong. Food Prices from NTD89 to about NTD250 for a more elaborate meal but a huge choice available. All this between Section Y19~Y23 What about the Muslim people?? No worries a couple of Indonesian Restaurant there full of OFW maily Indonesian eating -So food very authentic and tasty-Price about NTD100 for a Plate of Rice with Veg Meat/Fish TA ask for what type of people is this place-Well-Whole Family including Grandparents. Young Couples, Groups of friends just chilling. Or solo Checking out the Guys or Gals or both-your choice!! Clean Toilets there. Also if you are drinking bottled water (Got free in your Hotel Room) , you can refill those bottles here free at the water fountain-Cold or hot.Continue to save bucks.
