Tips for you
We were searching for a seafood lunch before visiting Longshan Temple and tried the Triposo Taiwan Guide Ap which pointed us to this place. It was hard to find in amongst the market streets and when we came up through an arcade of sorts, we didn't have much hope there would be any sort of restaurant here other than a food stall, but then it just appeared out of nowhere! Walk in to a room full of tanks with a huge variety of fresh seafood; you pick what you want and they prepare it for you along with whatever side dishes they are serving that day - no menu, no price list but definitely fresh. Then you walk through a second door into 17th century France - antique furnishings and tableware, like something at Versailles! We had clams, some large shrimp, and crab which came with a fantastic noodle dish, soup, some greens - we were in heaven. Excellent service in the crowded somewhat smallish rooms - all made us fearful of the bill, but it was about $25US each for what turned out to be a very high end joint. Don't miss it if you're at the Longshan Temple - either for lunch or dinner - just excellent!
