Why Snake Sanctuary is special ?
The Snake Sanctuary is one of the latest tourist attractions in Langkawi. Located at Kampung Mata Ayer, Ulu Melaka, in front of the Tok Senik Resort, it was created to provide the general public education on the snakes in Malaysia. Visitors can view the many types of venomous and non-venomous snakes found in the country. There is also an opportunity to touch the non venomous species.
A snake show is performed at the amphitheatre every day. Here, visitors get to view some of the deadliest snakes in action, including the king cobra, python and copperhead vipers. Shows are held at 11:30 am, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
What to explore at Snake Sanctuary?
Snakes though scary in nature, is also a perfect charm to draw tourists' attention. So to embrace on this manner, the Langkawi Snake Sanctuary was formed. Similar to a refuge for snakes, this wonderland provides a ground to offer snakes education for its visitors, on snakes' species, behaviour and characteristics. Here, you will comes across a great variation of snakes from King Cobra, to Boa Constrictor, to spitting cobras, pythons, iguanas, chameleon lizards, and whip snake. What's more, tourists can also watch live daily show on poisonous snakes with its handler, a thrilling live-show that should never be miss! So if you are a reptile lover, this is the place to be!
How to get to Snake Sanctuary?
The Snake Sanctuary is located in Padang Matsirat, close to Makam Masuri and Tok Senik Resort area. It's about 12 kms from Kuah Town. You can take a taxi or rental car to reach. If you take a taxi, it is better to keep it waiting or else it may be difficult to get a taxi on your return.
