Why Sivananda Yoga Center is special ?

Sivananda Yoga Vietnam is part of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization with locations in more then 30 countries. There are 9 ashrams and more then 30 city centers on every continent from North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.


The teachings of Sivananda Yoga came to Vietnam first in 2010 with the 1st annual Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course in Vietnam. Since that time the Yoga Teachers Training Course has been taking place annually in February - March. The "TTC" trains yoga teachers in the foundation of yoga life including self-discipline and sharing the yoga teaching with interested students.

How to get to Sivananda Yoga Center?

From Tan Dinh Market: Go straight along Nguyen Huu Cau (large street beside the market) towards Tran Quang Khai. Meet Tran Quang Khai Street, turn left, the first fork, turn right on Tran Nhat Duat. Go straight two-lane bypass was interrupted Dang Dung, Dang Tat,next one is Tran Quy Khoach st.. Turn left, center by about 400 meters on left side.

From Ben Thanh Market: From the main gate, turn right to go straight onto Le Lai st., Meet Truong Dinh turn right. Go straight until come to intersections with Ly Chinh Thang, then turn right to go straight out Ly Chinh Thang. In the end of Ly Chinh Thang street, turn right Hai Ba Trung and crossing on Tran Quang Khai. Go straight Tran Quang Khai, met the first forkr on the left, turn left on Tran Nhat Duat. Go straight two-lane bypass was interrupted Dang Dung, Dang Tat,next one is Tran Quy Khoach st.. Turn left, center by about 400 meters on left side.

From Tan Son Nhat Airport: From the main entrance go straight to the Truong Sa onto Hoang Van Thu park, turn left by the side of the park to the junction of Hoang Van Thu and Nguyen Van Troi. Turn right to go straight Nguyen Van Troi until you meet the intersection with Ly Chinh Thang, then turn left on Ly Chinh Thang. In the end of Ly Chinh Thang street, turn right Hai Ba Trung and crossing on Tran Quang Khai. Go straight Tran Quang Khai, met the first forkr on the left, turn left on Tran Nhat Duat. Go straight on Tran Quang Khai Tran to the fork with Nhuat Duat, turn right to Tran Nhuat Duat Go straight two-lane bypass was interrupted Dang Dung, Dang Tat,next one is Tran Quy Khoach st.. I had an amazing 6 days in this center. Staying here was the best decision I could have possibly made. Within the price are included morning meditation, morning yoga class - evening yoga class ,two meals a day and a bed. The perfect way to slow down, regain energy, dive into the world of yoga/meditation and be surrounded by wonderful people. Its a safe area, with a very local flair, apart from all the chunky party tourism The day starts at 6:00am with one hours of meditation. Right after you can go to the early morning yoga course or the one around 9:00am After that, we normally gathered in the kitchen for a little snack : ) , the best after getting up early and a wonderful 1.5 hour yoga course. Then, around midday there is Karma Yoga (help a bit in the house to maintain this place clean, nice and affordable, just the way it is). One of the teachers living in the centre will prepare food, so you can also see the local markets, help shopping / learn cooking / see where they get the fresh ingredients to prepare pure vegetarian food for all residents. Some private time to digest, read, walk, or what ever you would like to do is given in the afternoon until the evening yoga class. Residents should attend the morning meditation and 2 yoga classes a day, the rest of the day is pretty free. If you stay over the weekends, saturday and sunday are pretty easy going as well, time to visit the rest of the city, go to a market or just chill in the house, meditate and do your own practice. I was lucky to attend a foot massage workshop on sunday. I could only stay for a week, 2 weeks would have been better, or more. You can also come just for one yoga course or too, without staying in the Center But I recommend you to do so, to properly slow down, disconnect from the stress outside and focus on yoga, health, meditation and resting. ---Ok, here comes the nutshell: Great, friendly, clean, inspiring, fun, professional, ....---- Thanks again to all the good teachers Om shanti
