Why Siam Park City is special ?

There is enough to see and do at Siam Park to spend an entire day here, with a large area dedicated to a water park with exhilarating slides, and a separate amusement park with some fantastic rides for both small and big kids – just don’t visit expecting Disneyland or other international standard parks you have visited before. Although this park has some large new rides and the water park is great fun, the overall look is slightly shabby, despite a complete renovation in 2007 it still looks like it’s stuck in the 90s, and staff don’t have the best English. Although adults may be less than impressed, kids are sure to enjoy a day out here, and with a great value entry price and cheap food options available it’s a fantastic treat for the kids on a family day out.

What to explore at Siam Park City?

Siam Park City is divided into 5 zones. The first zone is “Water Park” which includes Spa Club, Super Spiral, Mini Slide, Clubhouse, Whirlpool, Giant Slider and Bangkok-Sea, the world’s biggest artificial sea guaranteed by Guinness World Records. The second zone is called “X-Zone”. There are a lot of adventurous theme park attractions including Giant Drop, Vortex, Boomerang, Topspin, and the new attraction “Take off” that are waiting for visitors to discover. The third zone, “Family World”, have various theme park attractions for all family members such as Double-Deck, Merry-Go-Round, Jurassic Adventure, Africa Adventure, and Dinotopia. This area therefore not only provides pleasure but also knowledge. In the fourth zone, “Fantasy World”, visitors will travel in the space with a lot of attractions such as Trabant, Monster, Astroliner, and Astrofighter. And in the last zone, “Small World”, children can enjoy smaller attractions including Mini Carousel, Mini Boat, Play Port, and Mini Astrofighter.
Apart from various kinds of attractions, Siam Park City also offers other facilities such as seminar, boy scout camp, food and drink zone (buffet, a la carte, and convenient store). Also swim rings, swimming suits, and deckchairs are available for rent.

I enjoyed my visit to Siam Park City. It is a low cost and fun day trip while in Bangkok. A water park and amusement park put together. The park is older but that did not lower the fun factor for me. They also have a good selection of reasonably priced food and souvenirs available. One good tip is to go during the week if you can, not on weekend. There were no lines or waiting for any of the attractions when I was there during the week. This made it even more enjoyable for me. I used a taxi from Ekkamai BTS station on Sukhimvit road to get to the park. The fare was 150 baht and about 1/2 hour. Be aware that taxi times and fares can differ significantly because of traffic and the skills of the driver. Best to plan for the trip to take one hour. Visit the parks web site for more information.

After spending 2 full days shopping, we decided we needed to do something very different to end our first visit to Bangkok. The weather was overcast but warm, the perfect day for a day at the park. The park has loads of attractions for young and old. We did find that the wear and tear had taken it's toll on the park and you can see that the struggle to keep it up to date. However, the rides were in excellent condition and the waterpark is absolutely great. Lockers were available for our personal belongings and the bathrooms were very clean. We had a buffet lunch at the restaurant and the food was awesome and more than enough to fill even the hungriest tummy. Will definitely recommend the park as a day outing in Bangkok.
