Why Shinsaibashisuji Shopping is special ?

Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street, which runs east to Mido-Suji Avenue, is the best-known shopping area in Osaka, and an enduring symbol of the city. With a history of 380 years, it was already an established shopping area in the Edo Period. Shops of all kinds and for all ages line the street, a roofed arcade 600 meters long. There are traditional kimono tailors, western clothing and footwear retailers, restaurants and fast food outlets, jewelers, and boutiques featuring the latest fashions. It?'s great to take a casual stroll through the Shinsaibashi area. Many people enjoy window-shopping and savoring the food along the way.

What to explore at Shinsaibashisuji Shopping?

Shinsaibashi is the perfect spot for window-shopping and strolling - not to mention a great escape from a rainy spring day! There's no shortage of places to shop in the south centre of the city, especially flanked by Amerika-mura and the Dotonbori, and Crysta Naghori underground, but this shopping arcade has a particular charm. Not only does it have a wide selection of stores sure to please anyone, but the southern end of the arcade is at the Dotonbori River, a great sightseeing spot and home to that famous 'eat-til-you-burst' Osakan cuisine.

Unlike other cities, where you have to go to several places and districts to make your purchases, in Osaka it's simple: just go to Shinsaibashi-Suji, the main shopping strip in the area that stretches for miles all the way to Namba. The strip has everything, from traditional Japanese sweets and kimonos, secondhand clothing and bookstores, cosplay and lolita clothing, 105 yen stores, even crazy outfits for your pets. There are also some international clothing stores that are very cheap like H&M and Forever 21. I got all my shopping done in one day! If you want it, chances are that some store in this strip will have it. I saved myself a lot of time by going here and now I have a ton of awesome gifts for my friends, all purchased at reasonable prices. Oh and there's free Wi-Fi all along the strip too, a rare treat for tourists in Japan. SUGOI!
