Why Serene Garden Cafe & Restaurant is special ?
Serene Garden café and restaurant inspired their cuisine from Minh Huong Village. In the mid 17th century, some people under Ming dynasty in China traveled south in search of a new home. Eventually, the stopped in Hoi An where they founded their Minh Huong village. In the generations since that time, many things have changed in the Minh Huong families. Old traditions have been lost and new ones adopted. The combination of culinary arts handed down by their ancestors and a generous variety of local ingredients has proven to be the ideal marriage of two cultures and two cuisines. At Serene Garden café and restaurant, with pleasure, they offer their guests a unique example of local food that mixes present-day freshness and 17th century inspiration, all of which is designed to please contemporary palate.

Tips for you
We travelled here in early 2015 and had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise to return here again this month and see a number of expansions and improvements to the restaurant such as additional seating, a new bar area, new décor and lighting. There is a real energy and vibrancy about the restaurant now but it has still maintained the pleasant serenity and friendly staffing that it is know for. The signature dishes are as tasty as I remember. I am still a fan of their Cao Lau noodle dish and their Snapper in Lemongrass. I also like their homestyle mint lemonade. My daughter loves their crispy Calamari dish and also their Tamarind Prawns. Ms Het offers a great cooking class where you not only get to eat the food you cook but you really take away some practical skills and easy recipes that you can cook back home. Ms Het has a great personality that makes the class fun. Some of the other cooking classes I have been to are not as enjoyable, perhaps a little too serious. So, thank you Ms Het for the fun cooking class. I love to come back here again and again because it is friendly and a little quiet, out-of-the-way, rejuvenating paradise among sometimes very busy streets.
Had the vietnamese sample set meal and whole grilled snapper with banana leaf. :-) Food here was excellent, would recommend both! Very nice ambience as well. Food is fresh and very delicious
