Sanggar Agung Temple or Hong San Tang is a Chinese temple in Surabaya dedicated to Chinese deities and other Asian religious icons. It is located within the Pantai Ria amusement park and become a tourist destination, even though it is originally a worship place for Tridharma followers. The name of Sanggar Agung is derived from Indonesian language which can be translated as Great Hall.

The main icon of this temple is a 20 meters tall statue of Guan Yin on the waterfront, as a symbol that this temple is dedicated to Nan Hai Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa or Guan YinBodhisattva of the South Sea. The giant statue was built after one of its employees saw a women dressed in white walking on the sea as she was about closing the temple at night, believed as the appearance of Guan Yin herself. It located on East Surabaya, Kenpark, Kenjeran. There are fee to visit this place. There are Buddhist Temple that very look like a temple in Bangkok (Four faces Buddha Statue) and across this Temple there are Big statue of Dewi Kwan Im and dragon, behind that is Kenjeran Beach. In here there are also building look like "Temple of Heaven". There are so many food seller that sell typically of Surabaya food, Lontong Kupang, Sate kerang, etc. You must try it. It is very delicious. I love it. You better eat in place where the price is shown, because if not, they will mark up the price so highly. And it was annoying. You better go at daylight when it was a good time to take a picture. Don't forget to bring your camera here. The place is very huge, but the other place exclude that i mention before is not well maintained. it not recommended to go at night, because the light is less and nothing good in here at night,

I really enjoyed visting these two temples. I have never had the chance to visit a Buddhist temple before and I found the experience very interesting and friendly. The Kwan Im godess is on one side of the road and the temple to Buddha on the other. When we visited the Kwan Im temple it was quite quiet. There was only 1 family worshipping. The Buddhist temple was much more busy. We were unsure if we were allowed to go in but we were approached by someone who spoke English and was very friendly. He encouraged us to enter and said it was OK to take photos. The temples are in the Kenjeran Beach Park, which I found a little quirky. For example, about 500m from the Kwan Im goddess statue there's a sun bleached Disney like castle. Also, just next door to the Kwan Im statue there is a building that appears to be a workshop used to make things for the beach park and there are discarded plastic dolphins lying around. Don't let this put you off. It's just quirky. Along the beach there are plenty of places to eat local food, although we didn't buy anything, and there are lots of boatmen offering trips out to the sandbanks between Surabaya and Madura.
