Tips for you
During our river cruise through Cambodia and Vietnam, we saw many markets, floating or otherwise ;we visited many villages and got used to the "One dollar, One dollar" regime which inevitably characterises such places. However, this was a large (very large) wonderfully stocked local market...for the locals, not for the tourists. If, for whatever reason you decide only to visit ONE market...make it this one. The range of food is astonishing.... from fillets of rat to ...everything other form of meat, and from dragon fruits to ...every other exotic fruit. As for fish....an unbelievable range: fresh??? they were still thrashing about!...so ...YES they were fresh. You will get some amazing pictures and impressions here....but go with a guide, and be careful what you sample unless your stomach and constitution is stronger than mine....or you are a local.
