Why Roppongi Fukuzushi is special ?

Arguably some of Tokyo’s best sushi is served at Fukuzushi’s lovely wooden counter, where the chefs can satisfy your palate with conventional favourites, but can just as easily piece together something more innovative, if you wish.

Must try dishes:

Sushi is a Japanese food consisting of cooked vinegared rice combined with other ingredients , seafood, vegetables and sometimes tropical fruits

Sushi does not mean raw fish! Completely raw silvers of fish, beef or even game dipped in soy sauce are called "sashimi". Sushi, on the other hand, always involves vinegared rice with all sorts of other ingredients: vegetables, eggs, tofu, or fish cooked or raw.The simplest and most familiar type of sushi is "nigiri-sushi": a finger of rice topped with a fillet of fish.Sushi is surprisingly filling and can make a meal in itself,a quick snack or the perfect party food.In Japan it is popular for lunch or with drinks after work.

Most upscale sushi bars are serious- at certain Michelin-starred places my friends and Zi feel they can wreak the joy out of dining with poker-faced, strict behavior and so many rules! Not here! This is a very good mid-range priced place, with upscale ambience, huge portions and sushi chefs who chat with you and smile! Sit at the counter! You need to book ahead- it's a popular place! I'd say book two weeks ahead for the weekend! Kampai! Visited August 2015

Had read about this place, tucked away on a side street though easy to find thanks to it's proximity to the Hard Rock Cafe. We went for lunch and had an amazing chirashi. On top of the delicious fish, it was a great value. The lunch came with various sides, including a tasty chowmushi to start and coffee to finish.

It's fairly pricey even for the set menu, but totally worth the money if you're looking for a sushi experience like no other. The food was varied and incredibly fresh, with a wide selection of fish and gorgeous presentation. If you're looking to splash out on one meal when in Tokyo, this is the place to go.
