They open a channel which allows seawater into the salt pan, they then wait for the water to evaporate in the searing sun and soon they have piles of salt. I was with my husband and kids (5 and 9 years old) and we had and amazing experience doing the Discovery Tour. 2:20 hours driving through the salt fields, villages and visiting a beautiful Pagoda. We stopped at one of the salt deposits where workers where loading big sacs of salt in the trucks, they let us in and we could see the mountain of salt inside. It was great experience. The quads are big, stable, comfortable and very easy to drive. My kids where at the front having the feeling of driving while we were controlling the quads. Jeff is a great guide, very knowledgeable of the area. He chose a very nice route where we experienced a little of everything. Driving the streets, on sandy and muddy paths and going through big puddles. A very nice way to discover Kampot. Definitely going back to do the half day tour. Two hours was a good trip but we want more!!
