What to explore at Phnom Penh Tours?
Our tours are designed to deliver options according to your level of photography. We have scheduled in optional workshops.
We offer two highly praised workshops, which will give you a very firm foundation to work from in improving your ‘travel’ photography. In the first workshop Nathan starts with the basics but systematically describes his technical approach in getting the best out of your camera for the variety of conditions that you will encounter in travel photography. The second workshop will cover the aesthetics of travel photography and again Nathan’s very personal approach how to engage with the people you meet and how to see the picture opportunities that present themselves. These workshops take place on the first morning of the tour.
Day 1: Phnom Penh
On the first morning of the tour you will take the workshops. In the afternoon we will visit the bustling street markets and temples of the riverside area. We finish around sunset at the FCC for a sundowner.
Day 2: Phnom Penh
We will kick off with a visit to the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace is dates back to the 1860 and is still the principal residence of the King of Cambodia. We will then explore some hiiden away spots which will give you a view of a typical Phnom Penh community.
After lunch we set out on a visit to Silk Island in the nearby Mekong river. Despite being only a short ferry ride you will find yourself stepping back in time to see the a basic rural Cambodian community set amongst orchards, paddy fields and pagodas. You will visit a village of silk weavers and will get a chance to photograph them as they spin and weave.
