Why Pandanon Island is special ?

Pandanon Island lies in between Cebu and Bohol but it is politically part of the latter. It is located east of Mactan, south of Olango Island, and north of mainland Bohol. This is the final destination for Cebu island hopping package if you scheduled it this summer. Pandanon Island is a beautiful island with a long, winding sandbar that changes with the tide. From Pandanon Island one can see the mainland of Bohol on a clear day. Because it is farther away, it is less popular than the other islands such as Hilutungan, Nalusuan, or Caohagan, but those wanting a more secluded place with more peace and quiet prefer to go there.

What to explore at Pandanon Island?

Pandanon Island is one of the many Visayas islands that are known for sandbars, white-sand beaches, and crystal clear waters. It's about 120 minutes away from Mactan Island, making it one of the most famous destinations of visitors wanting to discover the best of Cebu's beaches.

Like on many other white islands in the Philippines, swimming and sunbathing are the top activities here. Its main asset really is its stretch of white sand but other than that, it’s hard to find anything else to do. There are cottages for rent (PhP 250 minimum), making it an ideal destination for family and barkada getaways. But if you’re goal is to just relax, you will surely find the island pleasurable.

How to get to Pandanon Island?

Pandanon Island can be reached by a one-hour pumpboat ride from Mactan, Cebu. It is one of the destinations for the popular Cebu island hopping tours.

It was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. The locals were nice and they have lots of fresh seafood (it was even cheap!). They even prepared and cooked the food for us without any additional charges and it was delicious. During the low tide in the afternoon, you could go to this small man-made rock island in the middle of the sea too. There were lots of fishes around it and there's a wide area around the island where you could swim without getting to any deep parts. The restroom is always so clean as well. The huts are wide and clean. We also played beach volleyball since they had a net all set-up. We also got a big boat with a nice crew to bring us to the island. It was small, but if you're looking for an intimate place to be then this is the perfect island for you! (Although I would recommend that you bring clean washing water with you since the showers are not working.)
