Why Osaka Museum of Housing and Living is special ?
The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living is a remarkable facility located in the northeastern part of the Kita Area. The museum has re-created buildings and streets that show what life was like in Osaka in the past. A model of the entire city during the Edo Period, the only one of its kind in Japan, is housed in the building. Visitors can learn all about Osaka’s development, experiencing via interactive exhibits the different ways of life in the city during different Periods of its history.

you can try the Japanese gown yukata clothing. if you have the museum discount coupon, it's okay to visit there and look around the traditional houses and street of Japan inside a building.
Loved the old street recreated on the 8th floor of this building. The miniature structures within the museum were interesting to look at. It would have been wonderful if English displays were with the exhibits. So many I wanted to know about the display but didnt get to know... :(Good fun for young and old
Very neat, clean and organized museum. Kids are admission free. Kind staff offers a photo shooting, introducing many cultural items, toys... We saw many Korean young travelers wearing "yukata" Japanese summer casual kimono while visiting this "old time" Osaka street. When we went there, decorated as "Tenjin matsuri" (big local summer festival) style as that time. You can walk to the longest market street after the museum if you like. It is famous e for the longest arcade market street in Japan. You can find everything for eat, drink, shop for gift. Watch out for bicycles thought, they are passing through from font and behind. We enjoyed this museum very much.
i went there on a rainy day. i thought this place is outdoor, till i found out that i needed to go to the 8th floor of a building to go there. So glad to find it indoor, and it was really amazing, how they decorate that place so that it really looks like real..! i also enjoyed kimono experience for free..!! excellent experience and exhibition..! plus cool kimono experience :)
