The orchids are nice, but for me the best part about the Orchid Park was the view it offered of the city skyline (bring a camera). I would not make the hike from the city just for the park though, however, combined with the Lake Gardens and/or National Museum it makes a good stop. Admission was free at least on the particular Saturday I visited

Orchids are one of our favourite flowers and I suppose coming from Thailand, the KL orchid Park would have to be pretty spectacular to compare with where we live. I had visited here many years ago so was interested to see how things had changed. There does seem to be some development work going on which detracted from the overall impact. There are some areas where shelter can be found on a hot day and there are many varieties of orchid some of which are named. There is also an area where orchids can be bought if you are able to transport them.On weekdays admission is free and the orchid park is situated opposite the bird park so visiting can be combined with other attractions. Use the hop on hop off bus service and get off at stop 15.Worth visiting although until all the development work is completed, you won't need to spend too long here. Good for photographers though!

Directly opposite the Bird Park & entry is free. Make sure you have plenty of battery life in your camera. You will be very disappointed if your camera dies half way through!! Most upset that I couldn't buy the orchids to bring home. They were so beautiful & so cheap :(
