What to explore at Or Tor Kor (OTK) Market?
Snacks and Thai sweets are also plentiful, whether the traditional kind or modern varieties, such as kanom krok (grilled coconut pancakes), sticky rice sweets, steamed palm sugar desserts, kanom bueng (coconut crepes), and many more. There is also a small food court selling delicious Thai food, including braised duck noodles, fried oyster pancakes, pad thai and various noodle soups, although at a slightly higher price than most other places. Adjacent to the market, the Doi Kham shop features organic vegetables, spa products and other dry grocery items from the Royal Project.Starting off as an agricultural collective, Or Tor Kor Market has grown over the years into an upscale outdoor food market. Tips for you
Or Tor Kor is probably one of the cleanest wet markets in Bangkok. Be prepared to pay slightly higher prices here compared to other markets. But the quality is definitely worth it. The market is as usual buzzing with crowd and plenty of stalls to choose from. OTK is famous for all the fresh fruits and other local produce. Buy local! Don't buy the imported fruits - they are expensive. The market is clean and spacious - unlike many other wet markets which are literally wet. OTK is clean. When you buy the fruits, they can pack them into cartons as check-in luggage all properly cushioned for air travel. You can visit my blog eddie-sng.blogspot.com for more.
