This place is very near the Silver Temple, so we had a break between temples here. It was friendly and efficient with excellent food. Noodles are the speciality; if you ask for vegetarian broth with the noodles, they will even do that, so the vegetarian went with noodles (though there are other choices). Everyone enjoyed the food and said it was the best they'd had so far in Japan (6th day). You get a plate of pickles and vegetables and flavourings, and there are condiments, to add to your broth. The wine is pleasant, Italian white by the glass, and beer and sake. Two of us had the sake-in-a-box, which was most extraordinary, and had to be helped off the stool. I bought some of their special spices in a jar to take home. The silver temple has lovely gardens, so it's a good area to visit!
