Take the 23 bus one way and the crystal cabin cable cars the other. This is a great way to see different views.

After getting to Tung Chung early in the day, we still had to queue for about on hour the get on the cable car, but it was worth it. The cable car ride is great fun travelling over land and water, giving you great veiws of Lautau Island, HK airport and of Big Buddha. The village seems artifical and touristy and definitely over priced - bottle of water was HK$10! My suggestion is to keep walking through to Big Buddha, the monastery and the many walking trails to be taken on the mounain.

Ngong Ping Village is a suitable place if you want to enjoy cultural scenery. You would get bunch of good photos too here. Starting with cable car (I recommended the crystal cabin because you could take cool photos if you sit exactly on the transparent cable car), then the Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery, Wisdom Path, there are a lot of photos you could take there. Suitable for families with children (they would like the cable car) and old people (they would like the scenery). But keep on mind that to visit this place, you would have to walk quite far.

Was well decorated and felt like a touristy place. Nice souveneirs but a bit over priced(a key chain cost me 56 HK$). There are some annoying salesmen in some shops, who try hard to lure you into buying stuff you'd regret paying so much for later. The eateries were clean and some even branded.
