Just located nearby the Yandang Mountain, this river area with the small creeks and bizarre stone formations is really scenic as well. You can stay there a whole day not having had enough of this beautiful area. Every corner reveals different spots, going up and down lets you become a part of this amazing vicinity. Just go there and sink into this world of rocks, stones and water. Awesome

The areas of the Nanxi River we explored were beautiful. We were either very lucky to arrive at a non-tourist time or the area is lucky not to be too inundated with tourists as some other more prominant areas of China can be. There was not a lot going on but in one area we saw a lot of camels down next to the river and I think these were available for rent. There was also an area where some 4x4 driving experiences were taking place on the river bank and in the reiver itself. There was evidence that rafting was available but all of the rafts we saw appeared to be laid-up. If you are interested in somewhere less-travelled then this area will probably suit. We hired a driver for a full day at little cost (relatively) and he did a fantastic job of getting us around the area.
