Why Namba Parks is special ?
Namba Parks (なんばパークス Nanba Pākusu) is an office and shopping complex located in Namba-naka Nichome, Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan, the south of Namba Station on Nankai Railway. It consists of a high office building called Parks Tower and a 120-tenant shopping mall with rooftop garden. Namba Parks was developed by Jon Jerde of The Jerde Partnership in the footprint of the since closed Osaka Stadium. Various kinds of restaurants (Japanese, Korean, Italian, etc.) are located on the 6th floor, and shops are located on the 2nd to 5th floors. There is also an amphitheater for live shows, as well as space for small personal vegetable gardens and wagon shops.

View the lights from the Swissotel - beautiful! Lots of stores and eateries. There is store called New Style that is a very cool shop with lots of unique items. On the same floor there is a massage place- highly recommend it, they have 20,40,60 minute massage. No oil massages but they have body, facial and foot reflexology. This place is better than the few in the shopping street area, cleaner and service was excellent!
Newly opened shopping mall, it is complete with all things one would like to see. They have one floor with special food outlets. We tried Doria Ramen. There's Starbucks on the second floor and to the far end you have Takashimaya Dept Store with a currency changer in one of their floors. One day is not enough! They also have tourist tax rebate in most of their stores. Do get an English or Mandarin brochure in their customer service counters
The architecture of the mall is why we went to it. In the end, a mall is a mall is a mall. BUT, that is not why you go here. They have great illumination and they made the mall look like a canyon so while the shopping is fine the architecture and the lighting and the atmosphere is why you go here. It was fun for us and we enjoyed the time there. The shopping was fine too.
Located in Osaka city centre , nice buildings , shopping malls , restaurants , etc etc . Great place to snap photos of your travel. Surrounding the area are also several shopping arcades , if you are looking for cheaper items .But remember - no bargaining in Osaka n Tokyo . If you don't like ,moved on to the next arcade ..............but you will see n get similar items n prices. For the men , park yourself in the many coffee outlets available , while the wife goes bargain hunting for the next 3 to 4 hours. A must place to visit while in Osaka .
