Why Na Tcha Temple is special ?
Na Tcha Temple is a small, simple, peaceful place built over 400 years ago with very simple materials. It is dedicated to Na Cha in an attempt to halt the Plague rampaging at the time. Now, it is a part of the historic center of Macau. This temple remains of strong historic value and the sense of delicacy and exquisteness. It is inseparable from the daily life of Macau’s citizens.Na Tcha Temple is very close to he Ruins of St. Paul’s,many visiors take great pictures here.
The Na Tcha Temple located near the Ruin of St Paul was constructed in the 24th year Guangxu Reign (1898). There are couplets on the gate: "The loop of universe represses the evil and the wheel of wind and fire brings blessings and peace."
The temple consists of a main hall and a worship pavilion, whose architectural style inherits that of the Na Tcha Temple Calcada das Verdades.
What to explore at Na Tcha Temple?
The Procession of Na Tcha’s Image is a tradition held annually on the 18th day of the fifth month in Chinese lunar calendar, on the birthday of Na Tcha. On that day, the statue of Na Tcha in the temple will be transferred – in Chinese "invited"- into a golden sedan which will be carried along the main streets of Macau.
The location of this temple is a perfect example of the dignity and distinctive nature of the local Chinese religious traditions in Macao, a unique multicultural dichotomy that is well represented by this small temple
There are traditional animal sculptures on the temple? ridge and upturned eaves. The small Na Tcha Chinese Temple looks humble, but retains its distinctive dignity. Compared with the adjacent structures, Na Tcha Chinese Temple resembles a miniature architectural scale model.

Besides of the small temple for Na Tcha, they also have a small museum depicting the history of the temple. It is heartening to know that this small structure just adjacent to a small portion of old city wall has been declared as a world heritage monument. Rtn.J.Ganesh
