Tips for you
This place was a lot easier to find them I expected. It's about a 20 minute walk from Umeda/Osaka Station. Came here for lunch and the place was not as packed as I would of expected for a Saturday afternoon. All the tables are teppan-yaki style (meaning cooked in front of you). Although they had lunch special, that were quite reasonable- but they weren't Kobe beef. So we decided to order 2 different grades, a Kobe grade and a Super Prime. Both of the grading are good on its own, but the Kobe beef was more tender then the super prime version. Should you decide to choose the Kobe version, do expect to pay for the price. After all it is KOBE, which is a classification on its own.
We had dinner here recently and found the food to be delicious, albeit slightly expensive. My wife and I ordered two Kobe beef sets to share - a special set with lobster and another with seafood. We had a table for the both of us and were presented with a complimentary bottle of champagne as it was my wife's birthday. As for the food, there was no doubts about the freshness of the ingredients. The lobster was literally taken out of a tank in front of us, minutes before it was grilled at our table - it doesn't get fresher than this. I loved the Kobe beef for its rich, buttery texture, although my wife found it slightly heavy and oily for her palate. The both of us, however, loved the garlic fried rice which was smokey, garlicky and peppery. Simply delicious. Our final bill came up to 57,000 yen - slightly pricey, but at least the food was well-cooked and fresh. One thing we found slightly strange was that we were charged separately for the appetiser that came with our sets. The waitress explained that this was how the restaurant operated. All in all, it was a good experience.
