Why Miramar is special ?
The Miramar (美麗華 Měi Lì Huā) is a shopping center near Taipei's affluent business district, Neihu, and the well-to-do suburb of Dazhi. Best identified by the neon-lit green Ferris Wheel that forms part of its outdoor rooftop amusement park, The Miramar. Retailing a range of higher end lifestyle goods, is a breath of fresh air in the Jiannan MRT area - comprised mostly of office buildings on this high-eyed block of Neihu district.
The Miramar has simplified the space into 6 levels. In the basement, a food court houses a Wellcome grocer, and a range of restaurants and diners - from Burger King to bakeries, teahouses and patisseries.
What to explore at Miramar?
On the first floor, where shuttle buses and taxis pull in, Miramar showcases boutique items and big-name cosmetics, a perfect walk-through for women heading the maze of women's apparel on the second floor. The third floor features home interiors and men's fashion, while the fourth floor is for kidswear. Fifth floor houses Miramar's fine restaurants as well as the breathtaking rooftop amusement park. For a shopping mall stroll, snacks and entertainment, Miramar's inhouse merry-go-round and Imax 3D can't be beat.
For movie lovers, not only newest Hollywood and local movies can be seen here at Miramar, IMAX 3D theatres will also bring viewers a unique movie experience with three dimensional pictures.
The Ferris wheels of Miramar Entertainment Park became a landmark of Taipei since they were established. Ferris wheels display three themes of neon lightshows during evenings, sparkling in darkness. It is capable to carry maximum of six passengers in a cabinet. With 48 cabinets, total of 288 passengers may experience a fun ride on the Ferris wheels at the same time, the ride takes about 17mins.

Heard about this place from my friend so we decided to check it out as we've never been here before. Other than having a big shopping mall with lots to shop, the main attraction of this place would be its ferris wheel. Though not as big as the Singapore Flyer, the view from the ferris wheel was just as nice in my opinion. There are two cabins which are totally made of glass but you would have to wait since most of the passengers would want to ride on that too. In the end we decided not to wait for it as the waiting time was quite long. Most visitors there were from overseas. Worth a visit for first-timers. :)
I have been to this shopping mall TWICE and in Taiwan they have 2 wheel shopping mall one in Taipei one in Kao Shiung which they it viewed as a landmark building on its own. There is nothing much aside of the grand wheel besides the cinema. It is easy accessible by using public transport however if u are staying south based Taipei it takes u approximately 35-40 minutes to reach there !!! it is BETTER to come at night rather than day time simply because the wheel blink with different color every minute !!! so it is a great sightseeing and also for some great photo to be taken over there !!!
