Why Miniatures Museum of Taipei is special ?
The Miniatures Museum of Taiwan is the first museum to collect miniatures in Asia. The museum was founded on March 28, 1997 by Mr Lin Wen-ren and his wife. It is located in Taipei City, Taiwan.
Whimsical, wondrous and so fantastically detailed are the creative works at this delightful private museum. On display are dozens of dollhouse-sized replications of Western and Eastern houses, castles, chalets, palaces and villages as well as scenes from classic children's stories such as Pinocchio and Alice in Wonderland.
Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy this place for within each structure is a whole world of tiny figures in costume and surrounded by their respective daily furnishings. The peeks into the living rooms and backstreets of 19th-century London are worth admission alone, as is the outstanding Japanese village, complete with blooming cherry blossoms.

If you ever have a chance to set foot in Miniatures Museum of Taiwan, you will experience an interior wonder that will awestruck you with great amusement! Miniatures art originated from 16th century German aristocratic times. These detailed artworks of architectures and chandelier bulbs are all shrunken down to a certain size which follows an international rule of ratio 12 : 1 .Each magical wonderland is created under the masterminds of the artists. Like a journey back down memory lane, you can find the fantasies of your childhood dreams at the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan. Pixies, mystical creatues, fairytale characters, all live in these happy miniature houses. Tips for you
Easily spend 2 hours here appreciating the exhibits. Great for a rainy day activity. The exhibits are absolutely gorgeous!
Simply AMAZING! Spent about 3 hrs here looking at all the very detailed miniatures.
Nice to see
I really love to visit this museum again if I can afford time. Although the museum is a bit off the main road, you would be satisfied once you step into the place. There are a lot of miniatures ranging from house settings (mostly western styles), doll in traditional costumes to gardens. What struck me the most is how detailed the miniatures (considered to be very small) and if you look deep inside, you can still find tiny pieces (for example chairs in the kitchen in a house) that make the miniature perfect and complete.I lost tracked of how many photos I took and in the end I gave up taking photos to spending more time enjoying the miniatures.
Rather good Miniatures. some are really perfect done. in the shop you can buy your own stuff to make it by yourself. What else to write: just go and watch by yourself.
This place is well worth a visit if you appreciate creativity and small exquisite stuff (entrance fee $180). The ambience of the museum is very nice, with the use of dim lights and highlights here and there. There are many pieces, both big and small, on display and you can easily while away an hour or more here. Make sure your camera battery is fully charged as you'll be tempted to snap away at almost every detail in each exhibit! To get to the museum, take any bus to the Nanjing-Jianguo Roads intersection stop. If coming from Taipei Main Station, take bus 307 in front of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dept Store (exit Z, then Z4 of the station) to the above intersection. This bus runs frequently and it is a short ride to the intersection. After alighting from the bus, you can see an elevated highway at the intersection in front of you. Walk ahead and turn right at that intersection (there's a Mr Brown Coffee store at the corner). Walk about 200m until you see the sign Lane 124, Jianguo N Rd. The brown building immediately after this lane is where MMOT. It's in the basement. Just enter the building and follow the direction signs there. You may be interested to know that the Museum of Jade Art (MOJA) is in the same building. The entrance is a wooden door with 36 lotus seed pods on it. Read my other review on this museum. The museum brochure also gives the following directions : a) get off at Nanjing East Road Station on MRT Muzha Line. Walk along Nanjing E Rd toward the Jianguo N Rd viaduct, then proceed across Jianguo N Rd, turn left at Mr Brown Coffee and walk south about 1 minute. You will see the museum on the right.b) get off at Zhongshan Station on the MRT Tamsui Line. From Exit 1, turn left (toward Chengde Rd) and walk about 1 minute to the bus stop in front of Shun Chen Bakery. From there, take buses no. 266, 282, 292, 306 or Brown 9 to the Nanjing E Rd - Jianguo N Rd intersection. Get off there and walk about 1 minute in the direction of Mr Brown Coffee.)
