Why Menara Telekom Tower is special ?

Along with the Petronas Twin Towers, Menara KL Tower is easily Malaysia’s most recognizable and popular landmark. Constructed in 1994, the tower stands at 421 metres and effortlessly trumps the Petronas Twin Towers with the highest and most spectacular view of the city. This gleaming tower’s spindle-like apex is visible from almost anywhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Menara KL’s viewing deck is, at 276 metres, at least 100 metres higher than the Petronas Twin Towers’ Skybridge; the view is marvellous during the day and even better at night when you can see the entire sparkling city centre.
The tower is erected atop the Bukit Nanas (Pineapple Hill) Forest Reserve – the oldest gazetted forest reserve in the country, which houses age-old trees as well as flora and fauna indigenous to Malaysia’s tropical climate. Primarily used as a communications infrastructure, it is the fifth-tallest telecommunications tower in the world.

What to explore at Menara Telekom Tower?

Most visitors will visit the KL Tower  with RM8, it really gives you the bird's eye view of the entire city. There's also a revolving restaurant, Atmosphere 360, to allow you to have your meal while enjoying the view of the city.

There also have function area for private functions and wedding, what they called 'wedding in the sky', which served for many celebrity's wedding these past few years.

How to get to Menara Telekom Tower?

By Train

Take a LRT (eg, KL sentral station) to Dang Wangi station and take a short 10 minute walk following the signage to Menara Kuala Lumpur.

By Taxi

The easiest way is to catch a cab as the roads in KL city center is rather confusing. Try to avoid peak time; 7.00-9.00am, 5.30-8.00pm as the road in the city center will be rather congested.

We played 50RM to have afternoon tea in the revolving Atmosphere 360 restaurant which is one level higher than the viewing platform that charges 47RM to visit. Much better value for money, delicious food and unlimited tea and coffee. We arrived at 5 and only got kicked out at 6.30 when the dinner guests started arriving. Well worth the money.

A very pleasant start to a holiday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Although not cheap, it is still a place to visit for an evening meal. The scenery glides past, and forever changes, and dusk changes into night. The food choice was good, and the staff very attentive. The children enjoyed the experience, trying different foods, and walking around exploring. The observation deck has stunning views, and informative charts of what to see where. A good place to see a great city.

Bit hard to get there on your foot. Good there's a shuttle minibus so you don't have to climb to the entrance if you don't feel like. The best views appear after sunset when the city lights start to shine. We left bit dissapointed because on the observation deck you look through the glass and the price for this attraction is too high in our opinion. We had to choose between Petronas towers and Menara as we thought spending money on both would be an exaggeration. Your money can be spent in better way - maybe on Petronas towers.
