Why Marble mountain & Cham museum from Hoi An is special ?

Marble Mountains, also referred to as Ngu Hanh Son or Mountains of the Five Elements, consist of five marble mountains: wood, metal, soil, fire and water which is the highest one. This place is also famous for their traditional stonemasonry activities, 600 families chisel stone statues, jewellery, and art work. Stone from the Marble Mountains has been exported to many countries.


The Cham Museum was built in 1915 with the financial support of the French Far-East Research Institute in Vietnam. On display is the Champa sculpture dating from the 7th to 15th century. You’ll see altars, statues, decorative works collected from Buddhist and Hindu temples apart from about 300 sandstone and terra-cotta sculptures. The museum showcases the eight centuries of evolution of Champa sculpture from the golden age to its decline.

On the way to Da Nang, visit the Cham museum.

13:00 : have a lunch before back to Hoi An.
