Why Manila Bay is special ?
Manila Bay is a natural harbour which serves the Port of Manila (on Luzon), in the Philippines. Strategically located around the capital city of the Philippines, Manila Bay facilitated commerce and trade between the Philippines and its neighbouring countries, becoming the gateway for socio-economic development even prior to Spanish occupation.
Hailed as one of the best natural harbors in Southeast Asia and one of the finest in the world, the bay is also a historical landmark which once became witness to the rich history of the Philippines. Withstanding the passage of time, it has been an irreplaceable and lovingly preserved gem of the Filipino people.

Tips for you
No visit of Manila is complete with a look at the bay. A look at sunset is not the best thing you can admire, a walk at the "baywalk" is the best you can do.Unfortunately is was closed for a couple of years, because it became really unsafe at night...I got information that it will be reopened soon.Soon you can walk hand in hand with your partner along the water. Be sure to do it.
I once again witnessed the beauty of manila bay and the perfect sunset which made this attraction famous. The perfect stillness of the water and the reflection of the light truly makes it a wonder. Despite some cleanliness issues, the whole stretch of the may which connects one end from the port all the way to the mall of asia makes up for it. Jogging along the bay with such view is truly a wonderful ad relaxing feeling.
The Bay is quite large, offering miles of bay walk for strolling, vendors and in certain areas, I think the homeless. The area we visited often was behind MOA, close to our hotel - Microtel. They had an amusement park as well as some eateries by the bay. The sunsets are beautiful over the bay.During our vist, my father shared memories of the Navy ship he was stationed on as well as other Navy ships docking at Manilla Bay 50 yrs ago.
