Why Mamoz is special ?

Located 28 floors up, Mamoz offers patrons exceptional views of Hong Kong. Out on the balcony, you can enjoy the fresh air while you sip on a lychee cocktail. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows still allow patrons to take in the view. The bartenders are always coming up with new and delicious concoctions for you to try. If you feel like snacking, you can order from their tapas menu. The fries with truffle oil are highly recommended, or go for the Margherita pizza. The decor is trendy and sleek - black marble floors, modern light fixtures, and leather chairs are contrasted in just the right way by the natural wood bar.

Amazing roof top area for drinks, but no food, not even nuts, could be served up there..

We went to mamoz because we wanted to try something new. And mostly such adventures fall flat - not this one. Just a beautifully put together lounge - in the middle of one of the busiest parts of HK. The incongruence is part of the charm. The lift zooms up and opens into a warm little cavern with full length windows offering 270 degrees of Hong Kong skyline. It's not the Harbour view alone (which is always such a draw) on offer... It's everything. Lovely seating - sofas if you like that, bar stools if that... set against the windows. The wine list is fantastic. The service is quiet yet prompt and knowledgeable. The upstairs is a bitter sweet experience. Beautifully done in chic lounge seating, no alcohol can be served there cos they don't have a license for up there (yet). So one has to take the drink in plastic cups and line up between the smokers to take in the views. Coming back in (and a floor down) was a relief... And that is wrong. But don't let that take anything away from this lovely little bar-nest.

Mamoz is fast becoming my favorite happy hour place in Hoi Ping Road since Inside-out has moved from its original location. Mamoz is located on the top floor of Cubis which is a new-ish retail and office complex near Lee Gardens. It is kind of unfair for me to compare it to Inside Out as this place is tastefully decorated (and clean) and offers creative cocktails, which is a far cry from the perpetually sticky-tabled and peanut shells on floor Inside Out. The space is cosy, with low couches in the main area of the room, and bar tables along the windows which opens to an expansive birdseye view of Causeway Bay. For those single drinkers Mamoz welcomes you to sit and chat with the bartenders at the bar. The food is typical bar fare, with nothing over $100 (initially, although you can add extra ingredients to up your ante on the pizzas), fries are boring but chicken nuggets and spicy corn with nachos is great. Portions are small so order more for variety. The pizza is also not bad, thin crusted but not crispy- the consistency is like a giant lunchables pizza. But it tastes better than I describe. I promise. Now for the drinks. Overall their original cocktails are pretty good, but what I want to talk about is their sangrias. The sangrias are free (for ladies. And on Thursdays) as it's ladies night. As far as free flowing drinks go Mamoz's sangrias are pretty tasty, and offer a nice buzz right at around the 3rd glass or so. I've checked with the staff and technically ladies can go there and order sangrias till 9 and leave suitably buzzed with zero on the bar tab. Now isn't that nice after a long week of thankless and degrading work known as a Career in Marketing.

A dark lounge scattered with interesting light fixtures, floor to ceiling windows showing off the gorgeous Hong Kong skyline. Assorted seating, beautiful bar, cool djs, yummy upscale bar food, and amazing views of the city. The rooftop outdoor deck was very special, you could keep warm with the heating lamps while enjoying the breeze. Very chic, very comfortable, very cool.
