Why Magical Garden Cafe is special ?

They have a good range of food that is particularly varied, not just Thai dishes but they have a western range including bruschetta, hummus with veggies, pasta, vegetable stew and more. They have other options for vegans. Great tasting fruit shakes and a few desserts.

As you might guess Magic Garden is set in a peaceful garden. They have cosy bamboo huts as well as a tabled eating area. Even if it does rain, they will still be able to find some space for you, perhaps inside the school.

Your money is going to a good cause here, as they are a charity who run a school for disadvantaged children.

The service is pleasant and the owner in particular is a very friendly guy who will make you feel very welcome and really look after you, as well as chat to you about what they do in the school.

Note: I'm biased because I think the Magical Garden Cafe is a great cause, but...I went to Magical Garden Cafe on its opening night and ordered a few apps and two main courses and loved everything. I was pleasantly surprised by how well organized, quick, and friendly the service was (especially considering it was their first day). The best part of the items we ordered was the cheese! It's been a long time since I've seen cheese on the menu and I ordered the baked eggplant which came out hot and smothered in bubbling, real, cheese. Same with the macaroni...soo tasty and satisfying. They have some great juices and desserts on the menu that I can't wait to try.The owner, Ben, and some of the staff introduced themselves and were really attentive to us. Ben told us all about the work the Magical Light Foundation is doing for the refugees around Chiang Mai, and took us on a little tour of their library, art gallery, and computer classroom which are all part of the program. The actual restaurant is a bit off Suthep so it's very quiet and peaceful, and set in a beautiful garden. All the tables are outside under little gazebos.I will definitely make this place a regular dinner spot and I can't wait for them to open up in the morning for coffee.
