Don't get hustled if you're a farang; matches should run you 2,000 Baht for ringside tickets. Don't pay any of the touts farther from the gates offering higher ticket prices!

First Question before buying a ticket...... "Are you Thai?"

Lower your expectations for what paying a premium for "ringside" seats will get you. Though they're better than the cheap seats, It's still first come, first serve for the few hundred ringside seats.

FYI this stadium is way the hell out of the way... need to take the SRT and a 100-200 baht taxi ride!! (Near Don Meung Airport)We spent the day at a market so we arrived during the 4th fight of 10..To sit ring side they wanted 2000baht, 1500 for the next side level 1000 for upper and 400 for top.I wanted 400 but when approached, at the door, to buy tickets we were led to believe it was a full house (Tuesday night) "only 5 ringside left". We argued to pay less than full price because we didn't arrive earlier. ... no go.It felt fishy but we were wasting time and my husband wanted good seats... I mean this is a 'must do' in Thailand, right!?We ended up paying 3200 baht for ring side... the "special price".Upon entering, the arena was less than half full and the were probably 25 RS seats available. .. one foot in my husband said "no! I want to sit higher and I want my money difference back" -- needless to say there was no refunds---I don't know why anyone would choose RS over the 400baht tickets. . The view seemed better to me and I personally would have appreciated not seeing the blatant cheating and fight fixing up close. This place blew my muy thai facinations. In one fight the guy who was potentially still in the fight danced around and touched gloves for 3 minutes with not one kick or punch....In another, round 5, a guy took off his anlke wraps and jokingly my husband said.. uhoh, that's a sign, either this guy is about to get knocked outor he's about to win.... 10 seconds later his opponent was on the floor. In the middle seating is all gambling. . The whole time the focus is on taking and making bets.. its almost hard for those not involved to pay attention to the guys dancing in the ring...Huge disappointment. ... go to a different stadium but beware of the scam everywhere.Would NOT return!!!!

As the other reviews say, the stadium is about 20-45 minutes out of town (depending on traffic). When we initially mapped this on our phones with Google Maps, it was a little confusing and several websites we looked at still brought you to the old stadium. We had five different metered cab drivers tell us no before we finally found a cab driver who would take us there (with the meter ON). When we arrived, we were greeted by an usher who gave us the price points. As others have said, 2000B for the ringside and 1500B for the second class. We did end up sitting ringside (along with all the other tourists) and the place was practically empty. I was able to go sit in the press section for a little while to take pictures and attempt a chat with the members of the press. Outside (if you are leaving the stadium, you take a left), there are a number of good food options (30B-50B) and you can bring the food into the stadium, along with the 60B small Chang beers that you can buy at the snack area (there were also really good bathrooms right by the snack area!). There was a lot of traffic getting there, but cab driver was great and took us directly there for about 280B. When we left, the cab ride home was 200B (plus the tolls that you have to pay separately 70B I believe). All in all, it was a decent evening once we were able to gather enough information about how to finally get there. We also could have hit it on an off night (it was a Saturday), because the atmosphere was a little slow with very few people.

Overall experience was memorable, "repeatworthy", and worth the horrible traffic. We left the Four Seasons at Ratchadamri in advance to brace ourselves for the 60min ride to the new stadium at the Royal Thai Army Sports Complex. The ride turned out to be a good 90mins instead. Please leave well in advance if you are traveling to the new stadium on a Friday night. Bangkok traffic is horrible. Also, rounds 1-3 aren't exciting, wait until rounds 4 and 5 so feel free to go eat during the first couple rounds at the food court outside the stadium.
