My friend and I went to Lua's to celebrate our last night in Hoi An and it was certainly a wonderful way to top off our stay. The food prices were a little higher than some other local restaurants we went to but still cheap (around 60 to 100 thousand for one dish). However for what you're getting its well worth it. The food feels authenticly Vietnamese and it's delicious but that's not Lua's crowning glory. Set in the middle of the rice paddies the restaurant is at its best in evening, when it feels (despite being easily accessible) that it's well away from civilisation. Top that off with cheap beer and friendly service and it really is worth making your way a little out of the centre of Hoi An for.

Just had dinner at this lovely restaurant and am so glad to have found it. Authentic Vietnamese restaurant full of Vietnamese people enjoying a great meal in beautiful paddy field surroundings. Staff speak little English but we found no problem at all comunicating. The menu has clear English translations and point and smile is all you need. The service was fantastic with everyone eager to please, even bringing us an ice bucket to keep our beers in so we could drink them cold the 'aussieway'. Please Lua keep your food and staff just the way you are, many tourists like ourselves want to be able to experience a part of your life if we can. We were made to feel very welcome even though we were the only Westerners on a busy night. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful evening, I only wish we were here long enough to return.
