LPSM is a busy, interesting and entertaining local market that showcases local art and craft and, on the day we were there, local musicians and dance troupes. There are also second hand books, yummy food and lots of friendly locals happy to have a chat and talk about George Town and Penang generally. In some ways it is very similar to the community markets dotted all over Australia - except with local influences that give it a touch of something different:) It's relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to rub shoulders with the locals was great. If you are in George Town on the last Sunday of the month it is a great place to visit. And if you are lucky, a historic walking tour of the local cemetery might also be on offer.

This market/fair takes place on the last Sunday of the month, and has a terrific selecion of local handcrafts, old books, and collectables, also has a fantastic cake stall, which according to the owner, you can eat as much as you want and won't gain weight!!
